Food Safety & Quality

Our Commitment

When you're introducing a new ingredient into your production process, confidence matters.

At Kubo, we believe great ingredients should be supported by clear documentation, reliable traceability, and a straightforward path to compliance. That's why we work closely with our Philippine manufacturing partners to provide the information Canadian food and beverage producers need to evaluate, approve, and confidently incorporate our ingredients into their products.

Whether you're developing a new beverage, scaling a commercial recipe, or qualifying a new supplier, we're here to help make the process as seamless as possible.

Quality at Every Step

At the Source

We partner with experienced Philippine processors that operate under internationally recognized food safety programs and quality management systems. Our aseptic fruit purées are produced using controlled heat treatment and aseptic filling processes that preserve flavour while delivering shelf-stable performance without the need for preservatives.

Throughout Production

Products are routinely evaluated for key quality and food safety parameters, including characteristics such as Brix, pH, colour, and microbiological standards, helping ensure consistency from batch to batch.

Into Canada

Products are imported under our Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence and supported by documented supplier verification, traceability procedures, and import controls designed to meet Canadian regulatory requirements.

Documentation Available

To support supplier approval and product qualification processes, we can provide documentation including:

Standard Documentation

  • Certificate of Analysis (batch-specific)
  • Product Specification Sheets
  • Allergen Statements
  • Nutritional Information
  • Storage and Handling Guidelines

Available Upon Request

  • Certificate of Origin
  • Safety Data Sheets (where applicable)
  • Non-GMO Declarations
  • Food Safety Certifications
  • Additional supplier documentation and supporting records

If your quality assurance team requires specific documentation as part of your supplier approval process, we're happy to discuss your requirements and work with our partners to provide the information available.

Canadian Compliance

Kubo Trading Company is a licensed Canadian food importer operating under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).

By sourcing through Kubo, you're working with a Canadian importer that understands both the regulatory requirements and the practical realities of bringing specialty food ingredients into commercial production. We help bridge the gap between Philippine manufacturers and Canadian makers, allowing you to focus on product development rather than import logistics.

Products

What products do you offer?

We import aseptic fruit purees from the Philippines. Our current lineup includes the Philippine Yellow Mango, Calamansi, Dalandan, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, Papaya, Guava, Dragon Fruit, and Coconut purees.

What makes your products different from other fruit purees?

It starts with origin. The Philippines is home to some of the world's most distinctive tropical fruits, each with flavour characteristics shaped by the country's climate, growing conditions and agricultural traditions. Our Philippine Yellow Mango Purée is produced from carefully selected Philippine Carabao mangoes, a variety prized for its vibrant aroma, natural sweetness, and smooth texture. Our calamansi and dalandan purées showcase two of the Philippines' most iconic citrus fruits, each offering a flavour profile that is difficult to replicate with conventional citrus ingredients.

What does "aseptic" mean?

Aseptic processing heats the puree to eliminate microorganisms, then packages it in a sterile environment. The result is a shelf-stable product that doesn't require refrigeration until opened and maintains consistent flavor, color, and texture for up to 18 months.

Are your purees made from concentrate?

No. Our purees are single-strength, made from whole fruit. No reconstitution, no added water.

Do your products contain added sugar, preservatives, or artificial colors?

No. Our purees are 100% fruit. No added sugars, no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors.

What sizes are available?

All purees are available in two formats: 25 kg aseptic bags in box and 220 kg aseptically packed in drum.

Is there a minimum order?

For initial orders, we recommend starting with a 25 kg aseptic bag in box to properly evaluate the product in your application. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Storage & Handling

How should I store unopened drums?

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C (77°F), away from direct sunlight. No refrigeration required while sealed.

How long do unopened products last?

Aseptically packed purees have a shelf-life of 12-18 months from date of manufacture when stored properly in ambient storage.

Specialty powders have a shelf-life of 24 months from date of manufacture when stored properly in ambient storage.

How should I store opened drums?

Once opened, refrigerate and use within 10–14 days. Alternatively, transfer unused puree to airtight containers and freeze for extended storage.

Can I freeze the puree?

Yes. Puree can be frozen for extended storage after opening. Thaw in refrigeration before use. Some separation may occur after thawing — stir to recombine.
